Photography has been a part of me for as long as I can remember. Growing up my mom worked for one of those big photography companies. Then America's Next Top Model came out. I didn't like the drama, the women pulling each other down and the crazy of the show but I was glued to the images at the end of every episode. Seeing how a photographer took these women and these scenes and turned them into works of art. Each image showed the ladies in their best light. "This is what I want to do!" I would think every day, and I did attempt it. I joined the military so I could go to school in San Francisco, but life got in the way. But in turn, I found what my real passion was!
Boudoir photography allows me to work with women, bring them out of their shells and help them see how beautiful they are in their unique way. I can couple this with what I have learned about posing, lighting, and fashion photography to create beautiful images that will last generations. Beyond this, I can create an experience that women never forget.
I do what I do because of the reactions I get from clients. So many of them walk away seeing themselves differently and know that their time with me was life-changing. That moment when a woman realizes she is beautiful, amazing and worth it; that is the moment I thrive off of and my why.
THE GIRL BEHIND THE LENS
I may have a slight addiction to Chipotle. I enjoy watching movies with my little one; Moana is currently stuck on repeat in my house. Or playing "geeky" games like ESO.
My biggest passion is being a Women's Intimate Portrait Photographer in Tacoma Washington. When I am not taking photos, you can typically find me helping homeless vets find housing. Taking advantage of everything the Pacific North West has to offer by getting as much camping in as possible is also top of my list for summer activities.
I am a photographer because I know how much it can change your view of yourself. I have found that most women are like me. We compare ourselves to everyone we see on social media and the models in magazines. We are never happy with how we are and even when we improve we still find something to look down on.
But the truth is, our bodies are amazing, they do amazing things! Our back "fat" allows us to bend over and those stretch marks show you grew another human. We need to bring ourselves back to reality and realize that we need to love ourselves. Do what makes you happy, grow as who you are not how you think others need to see you.
I was lucky enough to have this man (Rob) come into my life at a time where I didn't see myself as my best. I didn't see the strong women I was. No matter how much of a mess I am and trust me I am often a hot mess, he always compliments me. He introduced me to a group of friends who still build me up, and I only ever hear positivity from them. These are the kinds of people we need in our lives. These friends changed my life and the way I view myself. I want every woman who comes into my studio should walk away with her life forever changed for the better — knowing her worth, her beauty, her strength and loving herself more than ever before.
