Ms. R – Tacoma Boudoir Photographer

Tell us about you, anything you want to share. How old are you? What do you do for a living? Etc.
I am a mom who is over 40. I have children who have some special needs, so doing things for myself are hard to come by at times. I am currently finishing my Master’s Degree in Psychology. I am highly competitive and love to play as hard as I work. I play poker, I ski, and snowboard and I am a musician.

Tell us about everything that lead up to your session. This could be a story about your past that you want to share. Also things like: What made you decide to do a boudoir session? Did you have any fears about boudoir photography going into your session?
I wanted to do the session because I have been out of touch with my body. I wanted to see myself how others see me, and sometimes that is difficult for me. I have done some modeling in the past, so I was not worried about doing boudoir photography but being somewhat uncomfortable with my body I was slightly concerned about how I would look in my images.

Tell us about your session! Was the session different from what you expected it to be? What was the best part of your session? What were you feeling and/or thinking when you first say your photographs? Did your session change the way you saw yourself and your beauty? Etc.
My session was amazing. Ayla is such a great photographer, and she put me at ease right away. We went through my outfits; she understood my body concerns and assured me that she would manage it well. She did exactly that! I also had some photos taken with ropes tied by Rob. He was totally professional, and I felt completely comfortable with that additional service. The best part of my session was how excited she was to take the photos. I was so blessed to have someone who truly loves their craft take my photos. The images were stunning, and I actually did not see my perceived imperfections. I do not typically like photos of me, and there were so many that I loved! My husband loves my photos too, and he loves looking at my album. I finally see in the photos that I look pretty damn good for being over 40!

The nitty gritty! Any advice you would give to other women when thinking about their own boudoir session? What products did your order and what did you think about them when you received them? How did you like working with Ayla?
If anyone is thinking about having a boudoir session, just do it. You won’t regret booking with Ayla. She is so professional and knows how to position to have your body look fabulous. I ordered an album, prints of the shots that I liked, and a few shots on canvas for my bedroom. Rob was there while Ayla was showing me the proofs and gave me positive feedback from a male perspective, which I found helpful. I had given him permission to stay; it is definitely not a requirement to have him present for anyone who is not comfortable with a male being around. When I got the photos, I was thrilled. The quality of materials is phenomenal! Well worth the investment! In 5 years, I will look back on this and be thrilled with my images.

If you were going to write a review for us, what would you say?
